1. All entries must be a digital video.
2. The length of the video should not exceed 5 minutes.
3. All entries should begin with a 5 second blank screen to include the following information: Contestant name, Grade level, School Name, Title of Video or Performance, Total Running Time (not including 5 second blank screen).
4. Only current high school juniors and seniors who attend a high school in Collin County are eligible to participate at this time.
5. All information presented in the video must be cited. Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification.
6. There is no entry fee.
7. Entries must be submitted via the website beginning Monday, February 1st-Friday, February 12th @ 11:59pm, CST. Winners will be announced no later than Friday, February 19th, 2021.
8. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.
9. No professional assistance is allowed. Adults may assist with production but are limited to verbal guidance only. Adults are allowed to be actors or cameramen but not content contributors.
10. Videos submissions must be solo performances. No group performances allowed.
11. All portions of the online entry form must be completed when you upload your video for it to be eligible.
12. Content must comply with all local and national laws of the country of origin and the United States. Content must not 1) promote illegal behavior; 2) support racial, religious, sexual or other invidious prejudice; 3) advocate sexual or violent exploitation; 4) violate rights established by law or agreement; 5) invade the privacy of any person; or 6) be otherwise inappropriate as determined by NAACP Collin County in its sole and conclusive determination.
13. The only compensation for submitting a video is the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship if the entry is selected.
14. Students may only submit one video submission.
15. All entries must be submitted in English, if entries are not in English they must include English subtitles.
16. Judges decisions are final, and only 5 submissions will be selected as winners. (Scholarships will be an equal amount for all winners). Entrants will be judged on creativity, originality, and artistic presentation of talent.
17. Youth should keep at least one copy of their video submission.
18. Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the project remains with the entrant, with the following exceptions:
19. By entering the contest, entrants are granting the NAACP Collin County the right to use their names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.
20. Entrants also grant NAACP Collin County the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, and/or display the entrant’s project video without further compensation or notification to the entrant.
21. NAACP Collin County maintains the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, display, or exhibit the project for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on their website, at conferences, or at any other venues.
22. By accepting the scholarship, winners agree to hold NAACP Collin County and all affiliated stakeholders harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of such scholarships. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused from participation in the contest or use/redemption of any scholarship.
23. Entrants agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.
24. Entrant must be available to perform during program on Sunday, February 28th to receive scholarship.
