Heidelberg Alumni U.S. (HAUS) is pleased to announce two scholarships for the
month-long International Summer School of German Language and Culture at Heidelberg
University taking place in August 2021. This course allows you to improve your language
skills at Germany’s oldest university with students from all over the world.
Please note that the International Summer School will take place virtually in 2021.
The two stipends will cover the course fees (EUR 670) for the International Summer School.
They are available to qualified students enrolled at universities in the United States. We
are seeking candidates with strong academic backgrounds who can also fulfill the role of
ambassador for HAUS upon their return from Heidelberg.
Heidelberg University is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in Germany
(rated #1 in 2019 by the Academic Ranking of World Universities) and one of the top-rated
institutions of higher education and research in the world. Heidelberg University offers a wide range of study programs, and a strong international orientation; about one-fifth of the university’s over 30,000 students are foreign nationals.
Details
Date: 4 weeks in August
Admission requirements: 18 years or older and enrolled at a U.S. university
Course levels: Elementary (including beginner), Intermediate, Advanced
Courses: 20 hours per week in the morning, additional seminars/lectures in the afternoon
Additional activities: Workshops and other cultural activities will take place virtually in 2021 and will accomodate various time zones.
Note: Students currently enrolled at Heidelberg University or who are already receiving a scholarship from a different source are not eligible for the HAUS Scholarship.
