Flight Availability Scheduling Form
With a diverse student body exceeding 100 individuals, we recognize the unique journey each student is on and strive to cater to their individual needs. Our instructors meticulously prepare each lesson in advance, ensuring a tailored approach to every student's learning experience. When booking a reservation, students make a commitment to their education, understanding the significance of each session.
On average, our flight lessons span approximately 3 hours, allowing ample time for thorough preparation and post-flight analysis. This timeframe includes a comprehensive pre-flight briefing, typically lasting around 30 minutes, followed by approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of actual flight time, and concluding with a 15-minute debriefing session.
Please ensure that when selecting your preferred time slots, you allocate enough time for a complete flight block. Failure to do so may result in the unavailability of flight slots for scheduling.
Scheduling at Vermont Flight Academy
The schedule is meticulously crafted on a recurring basis spanning the entire month, offering a foundation of stability and predictability for both instructors and students alike. To ensure seamless coordination, both instructors and students update their availability monthly, a practice that informs our scheduling approach, which operates on a month-to-month basis.
Each student is paired with a primary flight instructor, fostering a consistent learning relationship. Additionally, occasional flights with different Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) are integrated into the curriculum to provide comprehensive support, address specific training needs, and bridge any instructional gaps that may arise.
Standby Flight List
The Standby Flight List presents an enticing opportunity for students to seize last-minute openings in the flight schedule. For those with flexible schedules and a readiness to embark on short-notice flights (ranging from same-day to 48 hours in advance), opting into this list can yield unexpected training opportunities.
By joining the Standby Flight List, students grant our scheduling department the ability to leverage their flexibility, maximizing training productivity and facilitating additional flight hours. This proactive approach ensures that every available opportunity is utilized to its fullest potential, ultimately advancing the learning journey for all participants.
Stanadard Scheduling Requirements
Students communicate their preferred training days and availability, entrusting our dedicated Scheduling Management team to handle the logistics seamlessly. To ensure a consistent scheduling experience, adherence to the following requirements is imperative:
- Submission of a Flight Availability Form at the onset of each month, regardless of any stability in availability.
- Provision of at least one week's notice for any planned vacations or events necessitating cancellations.
- Notification of significant scheduling alterations with a minimum lead time of two weeks. Please be aware that modifications to your flight availability may result in a change of instructors.
- Responsibility for submitting additional flight requests in the event of multiple cancellations due to weather or maintenance, shared equally between the student and the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).
By upholding these guidelines, we ensure smooth coordination and facilitate a consistent training experience tailored to each student's needs.
