The Winnipeg Film Group’s Workshop BIPOC Bursary Fund is a program designed to assist aspiring Manitoba filmmakers from Indigenous or diverse cultural backgrounds (of all ages) in furthering their knowledge of the art of filmmaking.
Through this program, candidates can apply for a spot in a workshop of their choice free of charge, with each registration bursary awarded on an individual, per workshop basis.
*Please email training@winnipegfilmgroup.com if you would prefer to do an in-person or phone call discussion of your artistic resume, reference letter and this application form. We can set up a date and time if this is a more comfortable option for you.
-Bursaries are available to candidates of all ages, who are Manitoba residents.
-Candidates apply to attend an “in-house” WFG workshop of their choice* (Bursaries are available to most WFG workshops but not all workshops can always be included in the bursary program. Before applying, please check with the Training Coordinator for the bursary availability.)
-Candidates may apply to multiple workshop offerings throughout the year; however will not be awarded a bursary for the same workshop twice.
-Priority given to applicants who have not previously received a bursary from WFG.
-$5,000 in bursaries are available annually and will be awarded throughout the year.
-A free Winnipeg Film Group Membership will be given to you for future workshops to take through a Member Price.
