PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE REGISTRATION
Fringe North registration works on a first come first serve basis. This year three streams of applications will be available.
50% of slots will be held for local artists and artists within Northern Ontario.
25% of slots will be held for BIPOC artists and artists of a diverse background.
10% of slots will be held for Ontario artists outside the Northern region.
15% of slots will be first come first serve and include national artists, international artists, and artists in the aforementioned categories once those streams have been filled. ***THIS STREAM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY CAPPED. Please fill out a registration to secure your place on the WAIT LIST incase additional funding is secured.***
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, primary preference will be given to local and regional artists within Northern Ontario. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once spots are filled, no further applications will be accepted.
This year's festival will be digital. We will be accepting pre-recorded content and hosted workshops/artist talks only. Pre-recorded content will be screened prior to the festival and may be rejected if visual and audio quality is not up to the festival standards. Submissions will NEVER be rejected based on artistic content. Submissions can be any length.
There will be no application fees this year. If accepted for a spot in the festival, participation fees (usually $300) will also be waived. This means that you can participate in the festival this year for free!
Furthermore, due to grant funding, all submitted shows will receive a guaranteed income of $200 CND. This means that you will get paid to participate even without selling tickets! Plus 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the artists involved in that show. Guaranteed funding for shorter content will be based fairly according to length.
*Please note that digital content submitted that is over 30 minutes in length will be considered its own show. Shorter content will be paired together with content submitted by other artists to create curated multi-artist shows. The proceeds from multi-artist shows will be divided equally between the number of submissions that have been paired together.*
Artist registration will be open between May 28th 2021 and June 30th 2021.
