The ROC Student Ministry Summer Internship is designed to encourage and equip those who feel the Lord calling them into future full-time ministry. The Student Staff hopes to do this by developing the Intern’s own walk with Christ and help the Intern grow as a preacher, planner, small group/Bible study leader, and as a discipler. The Intern will serve a special role in assisting the Student Ministry by building relationships with students and helping plan and implement weekly Student Ministry events.

Character Expectations
The Intern must understand that all attitudes, words, and actions are a representation of River Oak Church, and, more importantly, of Jesus. Therefore, we expect interns to live a lifestyle that is above reproach. Additional character qualities that we expect of the intern include:
- Spiritual maturity (See 1 Tim. 3)
- Team player.
- Teachable. Eager to learn and receive instruction and critique with humility.
- Hard-working.
- Dependable.
- Communicate well with Student staff.
Personal Growth Expectations
- Attend service each Sunday.
- Spend daily time with the Lord through prayer and the Word
- Weekly 1-on-1s with Student Pastor.
- Read the books provided by Student Ministry Staff
Work Expectations
- Minimum 20-30 hours per week (See schedule below)
- Minimum commitment of 10 weeks during the summer
- Must be able to attend VBS (June 24-28) and Summer Camp (July 28-Aug 1)
- Lead weekly small groups and Bible studies
- Preach to students at least once over the summer
- Weekly Sermon Prep and Review
- Help Student Staff with Curriculum prep
- Invest in discipling relationships with students.
- Help plan and implement weekly Student Ministry activities.
- Attend MS and HS Summer Harbor and After Effects.
