• Seed Library Membership Form

  • The Seed Library is a low-cost program committed to increasing our ability to feed ourselves wholesome food. We provide seeds and education to our members.

Through the time-honored tradition of seed saving, we celebrate biodiversity, nurture locally adapted plant varieties. We strive for community resilience, self-reliance, and a culture of sharing.

The Seed Library operates on the honor system. You become a member by filling out this form and paying the $5 annual membership fee.

    New to Seed Saving?

We encourage beginner seed savers to grow out and return the following super-easy varieties:

    • Lettuces
    • Tomatoes
    • Beans
    • Peas

We encourage all members to learn basic seed-saving techniques. If you can't save your own seed, please consider donating a few packets of commercially grown, open-pollinated, and non-hybrid varieties purchased within the last year.

Look for the following details on the labels:

    • OP (open-pollinated)
    • Avoid "F1" or "F2" (meaning 1st or 2nd generation hybrids)
    • Date packaged

  • The Safe Seed Promise

Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our lives depend. We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations.
For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners, and consumers who want an alternative, I promise that I will not knowingly buy, grow, share or trade genetically engineered ("GMO") seeds or plants.

Additionally, as a member of the Seed Library, I promise to grow plants and save seeds according to best practices to ensure that I return viable seeds that will produce plants true to the variety I label them to be.
