Locals say that the place way under the reign of the Bhutanese king, hence it carries many traces of it formed as traditional monasteries and statue of Lord Buddha. 

    Kalimpong is about exciting water rafting on the Teesta and Rangeet (Tribeni) river. Tourists especially come to Kalimpong for water rafting. Driving on the water among the sharp and big rocks, swiftly defeating the striking water waves and passing away from the steep mountains with the flashing water bath is breath-taking.
