• Help Make Holocaust Education Required In All Vermont Public Secondary Schools

    Join The Fight
  • Recently our eighth-grade social studies class had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Miriam Rosenbloom as a guest speaker via Zoom. Miriam is a second-generation Holocaust survivor(daughter of a survivor) dedicated to sharing her family’s personal story. It was an incredibly impactful and powerful experience. Listening and being apart of this opportunity was life changing for us and we will forever carry the stories she shared in our hearts and souls.

  • Next, fast forward to a class project we were given, creating a Public Service Announcement (PSA). The goal of this project was to spread awareness and call the community to action in hopes of making a difference for something we were passionate about. We promptly decided on Holocaust Education. In our research we learned that currently only 16 of the 50 U.S. states require Holocaust history to be taught in public schools. To our great surprise Vermont is not one of them! With that information our PSA was decided. It is now called: “Help Us, Join the Fight to Make Holocaust Education Required in All Vermont Public Secondary Schools.” We are passionate about making this change because we want every Vermont student to have access to this information and the important moral/life lessons it presents.  Please help support our effort by signing this petition. Thank you!

  • This petition has the support of the Vermont Holocaust Memorial (VTHM). VTHM is the only 501c3 nonprofit in the state of Vermont focused solely on Holocaust education. They are determined to make Holocaust and genocide education a requirement in our schools. Until then VTHM offers speakers, exhibits, projects, educator workshops, and resources to communities throughout the state to supplement this important curriculum.
