  • The Una Funk Scholarship was established in 1987 by the Class of 1947 at their 40-year class reunion. The fund is made possible by donations from friends, admirers, and former students of Mrs. Una Funk. 

    She was a graduate from Council Grove High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College for two years. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in 1921 and became a Kansas Master Teacher in 1957. A preference will be given to but, not limited to a student pursuing a degree in education with a financial need. 

    One qualified applicant will be awarded a scholarship for financial assistance for the upcoming fall semester. 

    Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:

    - A graduating high school senior at Council Grove High School.

    - Applicant must be entering a full-time college program or currently enrolled in a full-time college program no less than 12 credit hours. 

    *Application must be submitted by April 15th at 11:59 pm CST.
