    Program Profile

    Effective Impact Mentoring Program is a twelve-month program that begins in August and ends in June. The program has two primary components:

    • Eight half-day, in person professional development sessions.
    • One-on-one mentoring relationship between the mentee and a matched Executive Alliance member mentor.

    To successfully complete the program, mentees are expected to attend all professional development sessions and to fully participate in the one-on-one mentoring relationship. The program requires a 50 hour commitment for professional sessions and events throughout the year, as well as individual mentoring time.

    Deadlines

    Our next rolling application deadline is June 15. We will consider applications submitted after this date, but our space is limited. You may save your application at any time before submitting.

    Participation is limited to 10 - 15 mentees.

    Program Dates & Commitment 

    Participants should expect to commit 50 hours to the program over the course of the year.  All ½ day professional development sessions will be from 2 pm – 5pm. This is an example of what the program looks like:

    • August: Joint Mentee-Mentor Orientation Session & Light Dinner & Cocktails 4-7:30
    • September: Strengthfinders Session – 2-5pm
    • October - scheduled one on ones for individual coaching for StrengthFinders
    • October - Women of Excellence event (mentees may volunteer for registration)
    • November: Leadership Session – 2-5pm
    • January: Negotiating with Confidence Session - 2-5pm
    • February: Networking & interviewing –  2-5pm
    • March: Honor Roll event (mentees may volunteer for registration)
    • March: Resilient Leadership – 2-5pm
    • April: Communication Session -  2-4 pm, headshots & social 4-6pm
    • May: Be Your Own Mentor Session –  2-5pm
    • May: Social Hour – 5pm – 6:30pm 
    • June: Graduation –  5-7:30

    Specific locations will be provided at the time of acceptance or beginning of the program. Location of the sessions will be in and around Baltimore City. Mentees may take advantage of most Executive Alliance training and networking events throughout their mentorship year.

    Tuition

    Tuition is $2,900 and is due prior to the first session. Financial aid is available on a limited basis. Requests for financial assistance must be submitted with the application. Accepted applicants who do not accept or accept and then leave the program are not guaranteed acceptance in subsequent years. Once the program has begun, no refunds will be issued.

    Is this program right for you?

    This program focuses on women who are mid-career and rising leaders within their professions. The ideal candidate will be a mid-level professional and/or manager with experience managing one or more direct reports for a minimum of two years. The following will be specifically considered:

    • Demonstrated commitment to developing as a leader;

    • Demonstrated proficiency of leadership skills at work or in another setting;

    • Demonstrated effectiveness for development within a group setting; and

    • Leadership role in a volunteer organization.

    Personal Statement

    1. Why are you interested in a mentoring program? What specific skills are you looking to develop?
    2. Describe yourself as a leader using specific examples of your leadership experiences and how you want to improve your leadership abilities OR what would others say about your leadership abilities and provide specific examples.
    3. Provide specific examples of your community service activities and describe their importance to your development
    4. Please list two to three professional accomplishments and describe the one you consider to be your most important professional accomplishment.
    5. What challenges or professional development skills would you like to address in the individual mentoring relationship?
    6. Describe any previous mentoring relationships and what you gained, OR if you have not participated in one, what do you hope to accomplish?

    A current resume or curriculum vitae and a written recommendation from someone who is familiar with your leadership abilities (a supervisor at work or a community service relationship) must be included with your application.
