Only RISING SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS may apply... (This means you must currently be a freshman or a sophomore--If you will be a SENIOR next year, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE YEARBOOK 1.) *unless permission is given by Ms. Anderson*
Instructions for applying for yearbook are below. Please follow them carefully as this is an important quality of a prospective staff member! Also, make sure your parents see the portion about ad sales and give their signature at the bottom.
1. Before you begin to fill out the application, make sure that you are aware of what requirements are expected of yearbook students. For example, we have to attend sporting events and club meetings occasionally to take photographs. If you cannot obligate yourself to this extra time requirement, please do not apply. Also, business ad sales are a requirement for yearbook students, so please do not apply if you do not have the resources or time to sell ads during the first quarter. You will be given leads for companies to start with, but you will have to supplement those with your own ideas.
2. You will need to send two recommendation forms to two teachers. One should be given to your English teacher from the current school year. The other may be given to any teacher of your choice. The teachers will submit these recommendations straight to me, Ms. Anderson. You are responsible for emailing your teachers this link.

3. Along with completing the application, you need to attach a statement explaining why you want to be a member of the staff and why we should pick you over other candidates. Attach your letter to the application. Be genuine and truthful. I want to know why you really want to be part of my staff. This is also a great chance to show off your writing skills! You may also submit an additional piece of writing that you are proud of. It could be a paper for a class or a piece of personal creative writing. The letter is mandatory; the additional writing piece is optional. However, whether it is shown in your letter or additional writing, this is your time to impress me.
4. If time permits, my goal is to interview potential staff members. These interviews will be conducted during lunch/after school. I will notify you if this is the case.
**You will only be placed in yearbook during registration if you have been chosen to be a part of the staff. You will be placed in Yearbook I initially and will have the chance to advance.
Good luck, and I look forward to meeting you!
