Please Read All Information.
In this Form Desi's Doggie Doo's is Refered to as DDD.
PROTOCOL
If you or someone in your household are not feeling well, please call to reschedule your appointment. Please alert us by Ringing the door bell, texting 613-283-6785 or knocking on the door. I will come out to retrieve your pet and speek to you if any aditional information is needed. I will then give you a pick up time or will text/call when pet is ready to be picked up.
Upon Arrival
All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier when coming into the salon. The parking lot can be a very busy place at times or there may be another inside or leaving the salon. If you do not have one, please come in and ask for one before getting your pet out of the car. If you have a retractable leash, please keep it locked at a shorter length.
Appointments
Making an appointment reserves that time for your pet. If you need to cancel, we ask you to please give us at least 24 hours notice. When someone cancels last minute or does not show up for their scheduled appointment, we loose money from that space and are unable to rebook that time slot. Everyone can run into a problem sometimes, us included, but just as your time is important, so is ours. If Early drop off or late pick up is needed, it must be discussed and scheduled prior to your appointment.
Cancellations/No Shows
If you need to cancel, we ask you to please give us at least 24 hours notice. Last minute cancellation/no shows will be charged the missed appointment fee which is full price of dervice scheduled. If it happens a 2nd time you will be asked to prepay before the next appointment will be scheduled. This will be non refundable. Punctuality; We are a small salon and do our best to keep everything flowing on pace so we are able to serve you, your pets and other clients efficiently. If you are more then 15 minutes late for drop off, we may not be able to groom your pet that day and you will need to reschedule and will be considered a cancelled appointment and will be charged. If your pet can still be groomed it will be “fit in” at the groomer’s convenience which may take more time.
Health/Medical Conditions
Occasionally grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after the grooming. All medical expenses for Veterinary care, due to these problems, will be covered by the pet owner, If you have a senior pet, overweight pet, medical needs or just needs special attention for any reason, please be honest and let us know at time of booking and we will make the right appointment for you and your pet.
Accidents
Although accidents are rare, there is always a risk when working with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking the nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our #1 priority. In the event of an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If we feel it is serious and the owner is not on site, we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet.
Veterinary Authorization/Medical Emergencies
This release gives Desi’s Doggie Doo’s (DDD) full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest Veterinarian in case of any medical emergencies while in the care of DDD. Dangerous/Aggressive Animals- Refusal of Service DDD has the right to refuse service at any time. In the event your pet is too stressed or becomes nasty/dangerous to groom, DDD has the right to refuse grooming service, stop grooming service, or cancel grooming service at any time, before, during or after grooming. The client will be charged a grooming fee for what was completed up until that point. The pet owner MUST inform DDD if your pet has bitten or is aggressive toward people, other animals or for specific grooming procedures. One bite can put a groomer out of work for life. All bites big or small will be reported to the Health Unit.
Current Vaccinations
Any new puppy client coming into our salon must be up to date on all vaccines. Adult/senior dogs must be current on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo. Kennel Cough vaccine is highly recommended but not needed. Please have proof of vaccines. If your pet has a medical reason as to not be vaccinated a letter from your Veterinarian is needed.
Parasites- Fleas/Ticks/Lice
DDD strives to be a parasite free salon. If your pet has any parasites found they will be given a parasite bath at your expense. If you know your pet has a parasite problem, please cancel your appointment and reschedule when the problem is resolved.
Nail Clipping/Filing
Nail Clipping and Grinding Every Groom includes nail care. Some pets tend to do better with one option than the other and we will make a note of that in your pets file.
Ear Plucking
Every groom includes ear cleaning and plucking care if Pet WILL ALLOW. A lot of pets grow hair inside their ears. If you would like us NOT to do this, please let us know. Not all pets allow the ear hair to be plucked. In those instances, we try to do a little bit every time we see them. Dogs who have or is suspected to have an ear infection will not have this service done until a Veterinarian has cleared the infection. We do not want to cause any added pain or stress to worsen the situation.
Anal Gland Expression
This is an add on service. We do check your pet while they are in the tub to see if anything looks like it may need attention, but we do not express the anal glands unless asked to do so at a Veterinarian's recommendation.
Matted Coat
Pets with severely matted coats require extra time and attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet’s skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasites infestation. DDD will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by dematting them. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After affects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, bruising, ear hematoma, self inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defence by scheduling regular grooming appointments every 4-6 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process. It is time consuming and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. Additional charges will be added on top of regular grooming charges at $10/15 minutes of time.
Pricing
Pets should be kept on a 4–12-week schedule(Depending on Breed Needs). Dogs that go longer then a 12-week schedule will be priced at an hourly rate as it is much harder on me and the dog when left overdue. When pets are overdue there is a lot more product needed and more wear and tear on equipment etc. HST will be charged on all grooming services.
Payment
Payment is due at time of pick-up. We accept cash and e-transfer only.
Time Policy
DDD reserves the right to take the required time needed to groom each pet on a realistic time schedule and will arrange appropriate pickup time with the owner individually on a case by case basis.
Photographs
This release authorizes DDD to take photos of your pet for client file and for website and Facebook pages. All photos taken are the property of DDD.
