Purpose
The purpose of the ‘Emerging Professional in Women’s Health Award’ is to recognize a member of the Women’s Health Dietetic Practice Group (WH DPG) who has exhibited interest and initiative in the area of women’s health.
Criteria

Criteria for Selection of the Emerging Professional in Women’s Health

Current member of WH DPG.

Not a previous recipient of the ‘Emerging Professional in Women’s Health Award.’

Participated and provided leadership in Academy, DPG, or state-affiliate organization such as committee service, newsletter contributions, and other volunteer work.

Demonstrated research or practice (professional or volunteer) in the area of women’s health.

Procedure for Selection
The complete responsibility for the selection of the ‘Emerging Professional in Women’s Health’ rests with the WH DPG nominating committee.
The coordinator is the WH DPG Awards Chair.
All applications will be scored blindly and in the event of a tie, the WH DPG Chair will make the final decision.

Action Following Selection
The selected individual will receive an award of $250 and a certificate— presented at the Academy’s Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®).
The individual will also be featured in the Women’s Health newsletter and/or WH DPG website.

The WH DPG Member who is submitting the nomination should complete and submit all information.

Forms are due by June 1st.

Individuals can self-nominate.

The application packet should contain the following:

Completed nomination form

Description nominee's leadership and/or research/practice in the area of women’s health (1 page)

Two letters of recommendation from professionals and/or community members who have worked closely with the nominee. Each letter of recommendation should not exceed 2 pages (up to 4 pages)
Note: Please adhere to these requirements and do not send in additional information. Application packet should NOT exceed 5 pages. Failure to do so may cause the award committee to reject the application.
