How this fund works: Any University of Regina, Campion College, Luther College, or FNU student (including those attending the Saskatoon or Prince Albert campuses) can apply.
This fund is meant to serve very short-term needs - it is a small amount but RPIRG has currently prioritized distributing it to a wider number of students.
This fund is meant to support dealing with unexpected emergency costs - such as seeking legal advice, cost of legal documents, accessing gender-affirming surgery, having to take unpaid time off work for bereavement or family care support, groceries, etc.
Eligible amounts: up to $100 for an individual and $200 for a household
How to apply: Please simply fill out the form below - the only required information will be your student number and contact information, what funds are for and if for personal or household need, and how you would like the funding distributed. We are only collecting contact information for the express purpose of getting funding to you, and will not share any of your information with anyone else. We may contact you about providing feedback about your experience applying to and receiving funding to help us improve our services, but responses are optional.
If you cannot accept funding electronically or by mail we will work with you to arrange pickup or delivery. If you are having any trouble filling out the form, please do not hesitate to contact our Executive Director by email (info@rpirg.org)
PLEASE NOTE: RPIRG student members can only receive funding from this grant once per RPIRG fiscal year (May 1 - Apr 30).
Distribution of funds: There will only be one person working on distributing funds, who will work to fulfill requests as soon as possible. They will be filled in batches 1-2 times per week, so might take up to two weeks to be sent.
NOTE: RPIRG also has a separate racial justice emergency fund for self-identified BIPOC/racialized RPIRG student members. The latter has a separate budget. For more information about our BIPOC fund, visit www.rpirg.org/BIPOC-fund, and to fill out the application form for it, please go back to www.rpirg.org/how-to-apply.
