Child and Adult Care Food Program Input Workgroup Application
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Input Workgroup (Input Workgroup) is a group of CACFP sponsors and independent centers that provides input to the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) on the impact of policies and procedures related to CACFP. Membership on the Input Workgroup provides Texas CACFP sponsors the opportunity to share input and insights to TDA. Since the Input Workgroup’s inception, this collaboration between members and TDA has yielded many tangible results not least of which is increased understanding between TDA and CACFP sponsors. If selected, Workgroup Members should be prepared to represent the perspective of their CACFP colleagues with TDA. TDA also asks members to share any actions TDA has taken and the consideration given to all the input provided to TDA via the Input Workgroup. Each year, TDA posts the Key Accomplishments of the Input Workgroup on SquareMeals.com. TDA encourages you to review this document for an overview of the work of this group.
Membership selection is based on criteria such as organization type, sponsorship size, location, sponsor type, and the responses to application questions. TDA’s goal is to ensure that workgroup members represent a broad and diverse selection of CACFP sponsors and perspectives.
Persons interested in serving on the Input Workgroup must submit the below application by Friday, April 23, 2021. Member responsibilities include participation in a minimum of 75% of the scheduled meetings and, if held, attendance at TDA’s Community Nutrition Conference (MegaCon) in the Spring of 2022. Workgroup meetings are held virtually (Zoom or TEAMS meeting platforms) and occur approximately every other month. Member names and contact information are made publicly available including on the Squaremeals.org website.
Applicants are notified via email if selected to serve on the Input Workgroup. The 2021/2022 term will be effective for July 2021 through June 2022.
