Debutante Cotillion - Applicant Requirements and Instructions
Please read this section carefully and thoroughly. In order to be considered for participation in the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program, each applicant must:

Be a high school junior or senior during the 2021-2022 school year

Have a C+ cumulative unweighted grade point average

Not be married or have been married

Not have any children and must commit to not becoming pregnant during the Debutante Cotillion process

Not have any criminal, misdemeanor or court record of any kind

Not have a record of poor discipline at school or in the community
As a part of the application process, each applicant must:
Have fully completed the on-line application (including submitting an essay, official sealed transcript, recommendation form and application fee of $25) on or before Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Each applicant must also participate in an interview. See detailed information below.
Essay Information: Each applicant will have to complete an essay as a part of the online application. The essay must be 300 words or less and should be uploaded to the online application. The essay should address the following topic - Describe your future career goals, interests and why you want to be considered for the 2021 Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
Transcript Information: Each applicant must have a minimum of a C+ cumulative unweighted grade point average, which must be verified by an official sealed transcript from the applicant’s high school. All transcripts must be sent electronically from your school to debutante@akaamo.org. The transcript must be sent no later than Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Application Fee: Each applicant must submit a non-refundable $25 application fee by Saturday, March 13, 2021. The fee can be submitted electronically through the Pay Pal at the bottom of this form. There is a service fee for all Pay Pal transactions. The payment must be made no later than, Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Interview Information: Each applicant must participate in an interview. Interviews will take place of March 22 - March 26, 2021 via Zoom. Applicants who fully complete all parts of the application will receive information about available interview time slots and locations. You must fully complete the online application by the deadline in order to participate in the interview.
Recommendation Information: Each applicant must have a completed recommendation form on file. The recommender can be a teacher, school administrator, coach, community leader or church official. The recommender should NOT be a family member. Please click HERE to provide the name, title and email address of someone who can fill out the recommendation form. Once complete, the recommender will receive an automatic link to fill out the recommendation form on behalf of the applicant. Please follow up with the recommender to verify if they received the recommendation form. Please make sure that your recommender checks the SPAM folder in thier email. All recommendation forms must be received no later than Saturday, March 13, 2021.
