    * To be eligible for the Members fee, participants must be a financial member of BAS at the time of booking.

     

  • Description: This is a raku firing day for already-bisqued work. You will glaze, pack, fire and
    unload the raku kiln. The materials fee covers glazes used during the workshop,
    firing charges and the use of workshop tools and equipment.
    Bisqued work should use a raku clay (eg. Keane’s White Raku or Feeneys
    BRT). There is a limit of four average-sized pieces per person, maximum height
    25cm. Avoid heavy pieces as you will have to lift them out of the kiln with tongs.
    Suitable for all levels of experience.

     

    What to bring:

    • For safety, you must wear closed shoes or boots, long sleeved top and trousers of natural fibres (not synthetic), with long hair tied back. Bring lunch, and safety goggles and leather gloves if you have them.

    Materials supplied: ($35 fee payable to tutor on the day)

    • The materials fee covers glazes used during the workshop, firing charges and the use of workshop tools and equipment.

    About the tutor: Rob Linigen, former Senior Head Teacher of Nepean TAFE,  is an experienced Blue Mountains potter who works with local materials.  See robert.linigen.com.au

    COVID protocols apply to all BAS workshops

    • Do not attend the studio if you are sick or unwell. If you are required to cancel at the last minute
      due to illness that you suspect may be COVID 19-related, a full refund will be given.
    • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap (most effective) or use hand sanitiser on entry.
    • Maximum of 8 persons in the studio at any one time, plus one tutor.
    • Observe social distancing: 1.5m distance and 4m2 area in general, around each person.
    • All studio equipment is to be cleaned with disinfectant (supplied) before and after use.
    • Bring your own food and drinks including hot water, crockery, cutlery etc. The kitchen is closed!
    • Sign the register of attendance each day of the workshop; by doing so you agree that the you
      are well, have not travelled overseas in the previous 14 days, have not knowingly been in
      contact with a person infected with Covid-19 in the previous 14 days, etc. Please read the
      declaration in the book.

    ONLY PAID APPLICATIONS RECEIVED ON THIS FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED BUT VACANCIES MAY BE FILLED AFTER THE CLOSING DATE AT BAS' DISCRETION.

    WORKSHOP PLACES WILL BE ALLOCATED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.

    NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR CANCELLATIONS MADE AFTER THE CLOSING DATE, OR FOR ABSENCE FROM ALL OR PART OF THE WORKSHOP.  WORKSHOPS MAY BE CANCELLED IF NUMBERS ARE INSUFFICIENT.
