Scholarship Application: Licensed Nursing Student
OVERVIEW

The Alabama Nurses Foundation will award two (2) academic scholarship to a recipient who demonstrates commitment and potential for leadership in the practice of nursing.

AWARD

The amount will be $2000. The award will be announced during the Elizabeth Morris Clinical Education Sessions – FACES ‘21 event on April 20, 2021.

DEADLINE

Deadline to receive all required materials will be March 22, 2021.

ELIGIBILITY

This scholarship is available to any current licensed Alabama nurse enrolled in higher education leading to a degree in the field of nursing. The candidate must be an Alabama resident currently enrolled or accepted into an Alabama School of Nursing and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 scale.

The scholarship will be awarded based on academic performance, nursing leadership in either/or academic setting or community, and professional activities.

Required material to be submitted by March 22, 2021 includes:
1. Scholarship application form (this electronic application)
2. Copy of official transcript, which can be uploaded during the application process or mailed to the address below
3. Two completed applicant recommendation forms from two current faculty members. Previous faculty members accepted if applicant is not currently enrolled in an academic program. Download the provided form below. These forms must be mailed to the address below.
4. Photo (head shot) which will be published in the Alabama Nurse and on our website in the event you receive an award. There is a link to upload your picture during the application process.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
