It is not possible to make adjustments to an iaito after the order has been placed.

Any adjustments are very likely to incur human error and will increase the manufacturing time for not just yours but everybody's swords, therefore we kindly ask you to please double check your Iaito order before you make it.

We are unable to begin work on orders that we haven't received some sort of payment for. 

If you are paying after making the order via a system like PayPal make sure to check your emails thoroughly for payment requests so as to prevent delays in shipment.

We do our best to check payments every day, but in times of high traffic, we may be unable to check it right away.

Therefore we will appreciate, where possible, for you to send us an update when you have made the necessary payments.

Upon completing your order we will send you a mail with the estimated shipping date, in case of any changes then we will inform you.

If the fulfillment status is set as fulfilled, then your package has been shipped.

The reason your order is marked as unfulfilled is that there are many stages for an order from the moment we receive it till shipment.

Once your order has been prepared our logistics team chooses the best possible way to get your package to you.
We use a large number of carriers each with their own standard for delivering to each country, this means that there can be a large difference between when a package will be set to arrive.

For most items and orders we use either UPS, DHL or EMS.

DHL - Usually 2-3 days*
EMS - 3-10 working days*
Epacket - 1-2 weeks*    

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email from us with the tracking information for your order.

For example, this could be for countries in which the current situation is unstable or for countries where post couriers have difficulties shipping to.

Yes, we ship to your country and most other countries in the world.

If your country can be found in the "country" list when inputting your shipping information on the shopping cart page, then there should be no problems with shipping and order to your country.

To Kazakhstan, Russia, Greece, Serbia, Iran, Lebanon we ship only with EMS.

※To Kazakhstan and Russia other carriers are available, but only to non-residential addresses.

If you can not find your own country in the list of shipping destinations, which can be the case for certain "high risk" countries, where there is a risk that the post courier can not make a proper delivery due to the situation in the country or for some other reasons, please contact our customer service for more information.

To ship to a US Army Base please write the local address.

UPS cannot ship to the APO address of US army bases.

Tozando can accept payment from international customers with the following methods:

Credit Card: We accept payment via VISA, MasterCard and American Express credit cards 

Paypal: We offer secure payment via Paypal for all our international customers. Paypal does not require you to register an account to pay, as you can choose to pay using your credit card without registering on the payment page. Your payment is trackable and secure, also sometimes Paypal works a bit more smoothly than the regular Credit Card method, so if you are experiencing any problems, you might want to try using Paypal instead.

Wiretransfer: We accept payment by wire-transfer/International Bank Transfer for payments of more than $500.00 (USD).

In this kind of situation, we usually advise customers to contact their credit card company or bank.

Most of the time credit card companies have security measures to prevent unusual and sudden transactions such as overseas purchases.

These security measures are often active even if the customer hasn't requested it, so please contact your credit card company or bank and ask them to fix this situation so that we can charge your credit card.

Once everything is clear, please send us an email so that we can charge your credit card and process your order.

The credit card payment is authorized immediately and the payment will appear in five business days.

The value of import tax or customs duty is always decided by your country's customs office, so please contact them directly.

 

Because the Iaito sword is declared as an imitation sword, no license is needed in most countries.

However, customs are getting stricter nowadays so, we highly advice you to check with your local authorities / customs if a license is needed prior to placing an order.

For example, due to the UK's strict laws regarding the ownership of swords, UK customers should ensure that they supply copies of the following documents with their order, and ask for these to travel with the iaito:

• Proof of membership to a recognised, insured Sword Arts Organisation
• The Organisation’s insurance document
• A dojo leader's letter confirming that the customer practices sword arts and needs to own a sword to do so.

For Greece, there is necessary documentation you can apply and receive from the police department.
Without it, you will not be able to receive an Iaito.

To China we are not able to ship Iaito at all as they will be held by customs.

If you are in doubt, please contact your local customs office and they will inform you of any necessary documentation.

*For a smoother talk, it is better to refer to an iaito as an "imitation sword" when talking with customs.

If any documentation is needed, please ask if any needs to be provided by the sender and if you need to provide any yourself.

*Due to the Covis pandemic please check the shipping policies if it is possible to ship to your country.

We are terribly sorry that you are dissatisfied with your order, as long as the reason complies with our returns policy you are more than welcome to return the items and we will provide an exchange or refund depending on the situation.

If we made a mistake with your order, we will also cover any return shipping costs.

Upon return of an item make sure the item is not used during training and is packed carefully when shipped back to us.

Any wound or defect found even if it is during transportation may make us unable to fulfill your request.

We offer a Kendo Bogu repair service.

Tozando's Bogu craftsmen are happy to receive items for repair.
This includes Bogu bought from other suppliers.

The repair fee varies depending on the nature and degree of damage - please contact us prior to sending the damaged items and explain what you need repairing.

If there are photos available it will help our craftsmen understand if it is repairable and how much it will cost.

We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and the quality of our equipment.

To ensure your peace of mind, all of our bogu come with a 3 year guarantee as standard.

This means that you can get defective equipment repaired for free within three years of your initial purchase.

Our staff is able to translate your name into Japanese characters.

We strive to do the best possible translation, but please be aware that Japanese does not include all sound combinations possible which means that it sometimes has to be appropriated.

As a general rule of thumb, we will translate your name into the Japanese phonetic alphabet called Katakana.

Please be aware that there is a difference between Kanji and Katakana.

Yes, custom embroidery is available upon request.

Although we may be able to find your data from previous orders, to avoid any mistakes we highly advise you to send us an image every time.

Also, note that there are several staff members processing the order and if no specifications are added they may proceed it differently than a similar previous order.
