    Series: Acts: Empowered for the Mission, Part 23

    Text: Acts 10:34-48

    Main Idea:  To be effective like Peter, the Church must adequately explain and offer the good news of peace to everyone for the forgiveness of sin.

  • 1.     Understand the broad scope: The Gospel is for      sent by God Himself! (v. 34-36a)

    2.     Proclaim the true content: The Gospel is all about      ! (v. 36b-42)

    •    of Jesus: Jesus is Lord of all! (v. 36b)
    •    of Jesus: God the Father anointed & approved Jesus at His baptism. (v. 37, Matt 3:17)
    •             of Jesus: Jesus being anointed with the Holy Spirit, powerfully went about doing good by healing the sick & delivering the demon possessed. (v. 38-39a)
    •    of Jesus: Jesus was put to death on a cross. (v. 39b)
    •    of Jesus: Jesus was raised on the 3rd day & appeared to the Apostles. (v. 40-41)
    •    of Jesus: God appointed Jesus to be Judge of the living & the dead. (v. 42)


    3.     Invite everyone to believe:       of sin comes only through His name, which was prophesied in the Old Testament. (v. 43)

    4.     Expect God to save sinners: God will pour out the Holy Spirit leading them to      follow Jesus! (v. 44-48) 

    • The Holy Spirit      every true believer. (1 Cor 6:19)
    • Not everyone will speak in      .
    • Every believer should be      in the name of Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:19-20)
    • Every believer should desire      with the Church.
