Filmmakers must reside within South Australia at the time of the competition, out of state and international applicants will not be permitted.

*Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) is a broad and inclusive descriptor for communities with diverse language, ethnic background, nationality, dress, traditions, food, societal structures, art and religion characteristics. CALD people are generally defined as those people born overseas, in countries other than those classified by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) as “main English speaking countries”.

Priority will be given to applicants who have not applied for the 48HFP Indigenous & Multicultural Filmmakers Grant in previous years.

    Selection Process:

A panel of industry representatives will shortlist applicants and select up to four grant recipients based on the selection criteria:

    • Filmmakers must demonstrate that they are capable to participate and deliver a film as part of the Adelaide 48HFP by describing their team’s backgrounds and skills. For new filmmakers, collaboration with a seasoned filmmaker/s will be viewed favourably.
    • Demonstration of how the grant will contribute financially towards the team’s participation in the Adelaide 48HFP by providing a detailed production budget and quotes for equipment hire.

Selectors must declare any conflict of interest and not be part of the selection process of teams with which they have an affiliation.

The selection committee’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The selection committee is not required to discuss the reasons for their decisions or give feedback. The successful and non-successful recipients will be notified by email by Monday 12 April, 2021.

    Conditions:

Any documentation requested must be correctly submitted in order to be considered for the award.

The 48HFP Adelaide reserves the right not to fund any of the submissions presented in a particular year if it does not meet selection criteria.
