      President-elect for 2025-2026

      The president-elect serves as a member of the Society’s Board and performs duties assigned by the president. The president-elect automatically succeeds to the office of president at the conclusion of the term as president-elect.

      Michael J White, MD

      Dr. White is a semi-retired clinical dermatologist who started his career in the Navy, then Air Force. In the Navy, Dr. White served as solo ship's doctor, deployed aboard USS Trenton to the Mediterranean, as part of the US 6th Fleet. In the Air Force, he was Medical Director for TRICARE, Region IV, was on the faculty at Wright State University School of Medicine, and commanded the 8th Medical Group in Pusan, Korea. He was dermatology residency program director at Wright State University for six years and Chairman of Dermatology.

      Dr. White transferred to Mayo Clinic in La Crosse and served as Chairman, Dermatology Department Community Practice Division for 10 years. He retired from Mayo at the end of 2020, managed the Covid Vaccination Clinics for La Crosse County in 2021, and has worked as a consultant at Neighborhood Family Clinics in Onalaska since July 2021.

      Currently, Dr. White provides accessible and affordable dermatology care for persons of all age and all walks of life, who suffer from skin disease. 

      Dr. White has been on the Wisconsin Medical Society Board of Directors for a long time and was President of La Crosse County Medical Society for the last three years, having stepped down this year.

    • The Wisconsin Medical Society Board of Directors met on January 25, 2025 and selected a nominee for Treasurer. Please cast your ballot at the end of this section.

      Treasurer for 2025-2026

      The Treasurer is responsible for all funds due the Society, including bequests and donations; advise and assist the Board in making decisions on investment policy and financial matters; serve as the Chair of the Board of Director’s Finance Committee and report to the Board on the Finance Committee’s actions; disburse funds from the treasury in accordance with the Society’s approved fiscal policies; facilitate the examination of the Society’s accounts as directed by the Board; ensure that the Society’s accounts are audited annually; and make an annual report to the membership on the financial standing of the Society, including a Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities. 

      Stewart Watson, MD

      Dr. Stewart Watson grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from Dartmouth College, with a degree in Economics. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago. He began his professional career in Chicago, where he served as faculty at the University of Chicago in the Department of Emergency Medicine and as an attending physician at Hinsdale hospital. He then moved to North Carolina, where he founded and served as CEO of an independent Emergency Medicine Physician staffing group.  

      Dr. Watson later returned home to Wisconsin, where he worked for both Ascension and SSM/Dean Medical Group, serving as an executive leader and Emergency Physician, leading both organization’s medical groups as President and CEO, and also serving as a regional Chief Medical Officer. His overall Emergency Medicine and Physician leadership career spanned 40 years. In addition to his professional interests, he has four adult children, two of whom are physicians and one who serves as CFO of a national, physician owned staffing company. His personal interests are focused around traveling to spend time with grandchildren, children, and friends. Dr. Watson has enjoyed his time working with WisMed through its Holdings Corporation Board and he looks forward to helping the Society in any way possible.
