• Operations and Finance Assistant at Data Science Talent - Stone, Staffordshire (partly home-based).

    Work from Home on Friday's.

Are you the type of Operations and Finance Assistant who has taken responsibility for your own professional development, but has had little to no support from your employer?

We’re currently a team of 8 plus a non-executive Director. We’re growing fast despite the past year of the pandemic. Not only did we not make any redundancies or put any of our employees on furlough during this turbulent time, we actually hired two new permanent employees in the middle of the first lockdown.

Your work will focus on 4 main areas:

    1. Finance Administration - Managing the contractor timesheets, deadlines and check client invoices. Reconcile payment remittance and assist with credit control.
    2. Compliance and Contracts - Helping to generate new and extension contractor paperwork. Manage contractor compliance questionnaires. Generate client proposals. Help the business maintain legislation compliance.
    3. Recruitment -  Assist the Business Operations Manager with prospect campaigns and ensuring all responses are replied to. Format CV's and generate competency profiles for candidates to be submitted. Maintain and update details on our CRM.
    4. Operational Administration -  Check and reply to incoming emails for the company accounts. Open, action and file incoming post. Monitor company calls and respond to voicemails left.

     Benefits of this Job:

    • It will challenge you - As well as doing some administrative work you will also be assisting with important company projects.
    • You’ll get a level of flexibility and autonomy hard to match elsewhere.
    • Rewarding - The biggest problem most companies have is hiring great people. We get to solve this problem every day. This is very rewarding and interesting.
    • You will really see the impact you are having as what you will be doing will directly affect the results of the company. You will not get that working in a big company.

     About you:

    • Numbers are your natural strength and you enjoy working with spreadsheets.
    • You have worked with numbers and spreadsheets many times and find it easy to spot inconsistencies and errors.
    • You are very detail-oriented. Mistakes jump out at you and you are happy to correct other people’s work including mistakes, typos and grammatical errors.
    • You are highly organised, nothing gets lost or forgotten. You pride yourself on making sure everything is prepared and perfect and on time.
    • You want a role where your contribution is critical to the growth of the company and you will be rewarded as the company grows.
    • You have systems for making sure things happen on time and are correct.
    • You don’t feel handcuffed by systems and processes. You consider them to be tools that help you accomplish things quickly.
    • You have updated your skills many times and learned how to use new technology and software. You're OK with the fact that we use Apple computers and we don’t use Outlook for email.
    • You are highly discreet and used to handling confidential information. As a recruitment company, we have a lot of knowledge and personal information about candidates so we must be able to manage that information wisely.
