Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy but it does not guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. The breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.
APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: Cost of each puppy is $1,600. This includes their first vaccination, basic training, crate, and 35lb bag of Hill's Science Diet dog food. I will review applications within 2 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, I'll notify you. During pregnancy, approved homes will receive an invoice for a 50% deposit on a puppy and links will be sent out in the order approved applications were received. Please make this deposit within 48 hours of the approval e-mail. If you make a deposit, you are committing to take a puppy from the litter. Should circumstances be such that there are not enough puppies in the litter or that your preferences are not met and you decide against adoption, your deposit will be refunded up to two weeks before pick-up date.
YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in deposit order by the first or second preference of the depositor as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices are available, you may elect another puppy from the litter. We ask that you make a choice within 24 hours of notification since there may be other families waiting for a chance to choose.
GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age.
SPAY/NEUTER: We recommend spay/neuter at or around 18 months. If you're a breeder you should probably look elsewhere as puppies cannot be registered. This might seem hypocritical at first glance, but we have a take-back provision. Any puppy from our home always has a home here, and will never experience the fear and burden of life at a shelter. Taking back an unaltered dog into our home poses significant risk to our own dogs due to canine STDs and the possiblity an unaltered dog could be pregnant. It is recommended that females be allowed to go through two heat cycles before spay (unless she develops aggression) as proper hormone development aid in joint health as your puppy grows to full maturity. Please be aware that female dogs MUST be kept away from males for the entirety of their heat cycle to avoid pregnancy. Spay surgery while pregnant is exceedingly risky. Several canine STDs such as brucellosis can be transferred to humans, which poses an unacceptable risk to your family and ours should you need to surrender your dog. Because we take cradle-to-grave "original home" responsibility for the puppies we created, puppies must be de-sexed.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our excellent family companions do not come with registration papers to any registry. While dam is registered purebred and sire is purebred, their puppies cannot carry on the pedigree.
