Stomach Flu or Stomach Virus
Stomach flu and stomach virus are very contagious illnesses. Your child may not be permitted back into the program 24 hours after he or she no longer shows symptoms of Diarrhea vomiting, headache and feeling lethargic. You're a child must be able to participate in the normal daily activities of the program.
Flu Bacterial Pneumonia and Viral Pneumonia
Flu Bacterial pneumonia and Viral Pneumonia Flu bacterial pneumonia and viral pneumonia are very contagious. If he or she is diagnosed with any of these illnesses he or she is required to see if family doctor or urgent care immediately. There is a five-day exclusion for any of these illnesses. If pneumonia is found there should be a follow up appointment before the child is permitted back into the program. May I repeat five-day exclusion because of the contagiousness of this illness.
Diarrhea and Vomiting
If your child has diarrhea or vomiting, he or she must be picked up immediately for the child may be carrying a very contagious illness. your child must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to the program.
Ringworm, Fungus
Ringworm, Fungus If your child is found to have ringworm, he or she must be excluded from the program for a minimum of 24 hours with medication. The ringworm must always be covered. A doctors' note is required.
Caxsachie Virus (foot mouth disease) and Chicken Pox
If your child has been diagnosed with foot mouth disease, he or she may not return back to the program for the minimum of five days. A doctors' note is required before the child will be able to return. This is a two-step process them must be an initial diagnosis and then a follow up by your primary physician to make sure the foot and mouth disease is no longer contagious. They must scab on the rash before the child is let back into the program. This is a very contagious illness. **Although chickenpox is not as popular as it was before if a case is found we will follow the same rules for foot mouth disease.**
Conjunctivitis (Pinkeye)
If your child is suspected to have conjunctivitis or pinkeye you are required to pick your child up immediately. Conjunctivitis is highly contagious, and your child may infect other children. If you Suspect that your child may have conjunctivitis, please do not bring them into the daycare. Take your child immediately to the primary physician or urgent care. Please inform the daycare of the illness.
