Dig It! Garden Apprenticeship Information Sheet
We are excited to offer our summer youth program at Moore Farms Botanical Garden: Dig It! Garden Apprenticeship. Please read over this information sheet with your child before submitting the application. Only children ages 11-15 are eligible. Your child must complete the application without the aid of an adult. Apprenticeship applications are due no later than May 26th. Applications submitted after May 26th will not be eligible. You will be notified by the first week of June if your child is or is not chosen.
Apprenticeship dates: June 30th; July 7th, July 21st, and August 4th (4 sessions) 9:00AM - 2:00PM (Drop off: 8:30-9AM, - Pick up: 2-2:30PM)
Ten top applicants will be selected as a garden apprentice for the 4-week (4 session) experience at Moore Farms Botanical Garden. Not all who apply will be selected.
Responsibilities include designing and caring for our vegetable garden. Apprentices will participate in a variety of team building activities and learn about gardening/agricultura skills and practices, our food system, land stewardship, agricultural history and nutrition. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will receive a monetary award.
*Apprentices must successfully complete 3 of the 4 sessions to earn a monetary award of $50. Apprentices who miss more than 1 full session will still be able to participate but will not be eligible to receive the award.
