Valued Community Sponsor,
The Swan Valley Stampeders Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your trust and support through this disappointingly short season.
We all knew going into the fall that there would be uncertainty, potential pauses and yes, even cancellation. But, the outpouring of sponsorship despite the circumstances surrounding the team and the league has shown us what the team means to this community.
Unfortunately, a cancellation of the season means that the commitments we made to your sponsorship purchase have likely not been met. We also know that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all businesses differently and so we would like to present a couple of options for your consideration to move forward:
The opportunity to donate your sponsorship to the team with no further expectation. It's no surprise that the team is carrying a significant load of debt and your generosity would go a long way toward bettering our financial position and ensuring the team remains viable for years to come. We know that many of our very generous sponsors do not do so for the marketing benefit but rather to support the team and we appreciate your consideration of this option.
Receiving a pro-rated credit toward your 2021-22 sponsorship package. With the team only participating in 35% of the promised regular season, you would be eligible for 65% of the cost of your 2020-21 sponsorship package to be applied to your sponsorship for this fall (with the exception of any associated costs). This will require your commitment to your 2021-22 sponsorship package by June 15, 2021.
Lastly, we would be willing to offer a refund of sponsorship following the terms in Option 2 but prefer this to be the last resort, for various reasons.
To make it easy for the corporate sponsors to notify us prior to April 15 to make the choice known. If we have not received a response by this date we will assume you have chosen the donation option for your 2020-21 sponsorship money.
We appreciate your understanding of how we have chosen to handle a difficult situation and we look forward to working with you once again this fall.
