To celebrate the 'World Day of Botanical Art' on May 18th, the Botanical Art Society of New Zealand are holding an exhibition run in conjuction with Space Gallery, Whanganui.
The exhibition will run from May 12th - 22nd 2021
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Entry is open to New Zealand residents and all New Zealanders living abroad
You may submit up to 3 (three) entries
Botanical art by definition is any kind of artistic, accurate representation of plants so all work must be as botanically accurate as your medium will allow
They may be 2D or 3D
No size limit, although if you are submitting work larger than a metre in any dimension, please get in touch
All media, including photography and digital works, are accepted
Artwork must have been completed after 31st December 2019
Images of your work are required, do not include the frame in the photo if framed
You will be asked to upload your images together at the end of the form
All images must be JPEG format
File sizes not to exceed 5MB per image
Images must be labelled with your name/artwork name/botanical name of plant/medium used
If submitting 3D artwork, please upload at least 3 images - max 5
This is an independently juried exhibition so your success will be based on the images you submit, so submit the best quality photos or scans you can.
Entry fee -
$25 for Full Members of the Botanical Art Society of New Zealand (BASNZ)
$35 for non members of BASNZ
This is for one artwork
If you wish to submit more than one artwork, it will be an extra
$15 for 2nd entry
$10 for 3rd entry
Commission -
30% Commission will be taken on artworks sold during the exhibition
Of this, 25% will go to Space Gallery, Whanganui, 5% will go to BASNZ
Important dates -
Entries must be received by 11.59pm 7th April
Late entries will not be considered
You will be notified of the jurors' decision by 16th April, by email to the address you provide on your form
Please note -
The jurors' decision is final and no discussion will be entered into
By submitting art work you are agreeing to all conditions stated above
If you are successful, your images may be used, without further permissions, for advertising and publicity as we see fit, before and during the exhibition.
