There is an idea called "Dress for Success". We appreciate all your efforts to dress and groom in a manor that will bring success to you, help our residents be comfotable, and represent Homestead in a professional manor.
In general, the following guidelines are required when preparing for work:
- Name tags must be worn at all times. This is part of your uniform.
- Tattoos must be covered with clothing underneath your uniform at all times.
- Hair must be well groomed and maintained. Hair colors that can be naturally grown are acceptable (ex. brown, blonde, black), bright colors that cannot be naturally grown are not acceptable.
- Beards and facial hair must be well kept and trimmed.
- Simple jewelry and piercings in the ears are acceptable. Piercings that are in body parts other than ears must be removed (ex. Nose rings, tongue rings, lip rings, cheek rings, etc.)
- Fingernails must be clean, cut, and no extreme lengths or shapes.
- Clothing must be work appropriate.
- Caregivers and housekeeping staff must wear scrubs that are solid colors free of patterns. No sweatshirts or other clothing may be worn over your scrubs. Wearing long sleeves underneath scrubs is acceptable.
- Kitchen staff may wear regular clothing but must have an apron on and have hair pulled back if it is longer than shoulder length. All staff must wear closed toe shoes.
The following are not allowed in ANY department: Hats, shorts, sandals, sweatshirts, low cut shirts, pajamas, exposed undergarment, bike shorts, spandex, clothing with obscenities, clothing with holes, spaghetti straps, yoga pants.
All Kitchen Staff: Wear an apron in the kitchen and have hair pulled back if it is longer than shoulder length.
Housekeeping Staff: Clean set of scrubs and comfortable closed toed shoes.
Caregiving Staff: Clean set of scrubs and comfortable closed toed shoes.
Because of the population that we serve, it is extremely important that we present and model for our residents an appropriate example of proper grooming and hygiene practices. All personnel should begin the day appropriately groomed.
At any time The Homestead Management feels that your dress or appearance is not appropriate in any way, they have the right to ask you to go home and change. If it continues to be a problem, there may be written counseling.
Thank you for your help. By signing below, I am stating that I understand The Homestead dress code and agree to follow it.
