Please Note: You must be a resident or a public space within the state of Utah to apply. We are unfortunately unable to serve those outside of the state at this time due to organizational capacity.

  • Individual/Family Application

  • Program Overview

As a part of Mundi Project's mission to actively break down socioeconomic and generational barriers by providing quality music experiences for all, the organization provides donated, used pianos to families and individuals who would not otherwise have access to quality, acoustic instruments. The process begins by completing the following application. Once received, Mundi Project staff will review applications on a rolling basis to determine preliminary eligibility.

Once an applicant passes the initial screening, Mundi Project staff will schedule a Zoom interview with the Applicant and Learner to hear more about how a piano will benefit their lives. If applicants are accepted, they will be enrolled in our Piano Bank Pay-What-You-Can or Piano Scholars Program. More specific information is given in the application below.

If an instrument is placed with an applicant, the applicant will be asked to provide photos, videos, and a short thank-you note demonstrating how the piano has impacted their lives.

We recommend that applicants and learners review the written questions here before filling out and submitting the online application.

If you have any questions at all during this process, please reach out to Dylan Thomas at: dthomas@mundiproject.org

Accepted Applicants may be enrolled in the Piano Bank Pay-What-You-Can Program. From the date of the piano placement, applicants will make a payment towards the program with the option to pay the balance upfront as a one-time payment or in 12, 6, or 3-month installments. This payment will be set as either $1,200 for an upright or $2,400 for a grand piano. NOTE: this represents the program fee, not the piano's value. The fee covers moving, tuning, and other program related costs. No payment will be made with this application.

The fee helps Piano Bank be sustainable and accessible to the comunity by covering a portion of the program costs. Together, we can make piano ownership affordable and a reality, while making sure that the program is around for decades to come!

      Piano Bank Scholars Program

We also realize that the Pay-What-You-Can Program may not always be the right fit for every individual or family. • Public Space Organization

  • Program Overview

The Mundi Project places donated pianos with public organizations, providing young people and the general public greater access to these instruments for the sake of education and performance opportunities in congruence with Mundi Project’s overall mission– actively break down socio-economic and generational barriers by providing quality music experiences for all.

The process begins by completing the following application. Once received, Mundi Project staff will review application material on a rolling basis and determine eligibility. The unique needs of each applicant organization are considered and determinations are made as instruments become available for placement. Every attempt is made to ensure that each piano is placed where it can be utilized most effectively.

Once an applicant passes the initial screening, Mundi Project will schedule a Zoom meeting with the organization to help determine the best instrument location within the facility, share best practices in piano maintenance, and discuss post-placement tasks related to the piano.

If the applicant is accepted, they will be enrolled in our Pay-What-You-Can or considered for our Piano Bank Scholars Program. More specific information is given in the application below.
