Online Course for Community Cultural Interpreters
This is an online paraprofessional course that is competency-based and delivered with a participatory and guided learning approach. This course consists of eight units. There are nineteen online sessions, which include a self-assessment and a post evaluation. In addition to the online sessions, there is one in-house skill practice session (unit 8). The Nova Scotia Community Interpreting Resource Handbook serves as a learning resource reference. (assigned readings after a completion of each unit). This course will take on average 30-35 hours to complete and is available online (website).
