  • Nomination Form for Excellence in Community Service Award
    Submission Deadline: March 31

    The Excellence in Community Service Award annually recognizes an Honors student at MSU who makes outstanding contributions to the community in which he/she lives. The award is intended to recognize those who volunteer their time to serve the community in significant ways. Eligible nominees will be students currently participating in the Honors program.

  • Nomination Form for Excellence in Leadership Award
    Submission Deadline: March 31

    The Excellence in Leadership Award annually recognizes an Honors student at MSU who has demonstrated outstanding leadership based on an evaluation of his/her academic commitment and leadership experiences. The award is intended to recognize those who actively participate in leadership opportunities while achieving academic excellence. Eligible nominees will be students currently participating in the Honors program who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • Nomination Form for Outstanding Honors Capstone Award
    Submission Deadline: March 31

    The Outstanding Honors Capstone Award annually recognizes an Honors student at MSU who has demonstrated exceptional scholarship and dedication in developing and writing an undergraduate Honors Capstone. All students in the Honors program completing a capstone in the current academic year are eligible for the award. Submission of a draft thesis is permissible. Selection criteria include: originality, significance, quality of writing, demonstrated knowledge in the field of research, and interpretation of results.

  • Excellence in Community Service

    In 500 words or less, please submit a letter of recommendation, along with this form, describing activities and contributions to community causes which make this person deserving of this recognition. The committee is looking for a simple, direct description of how the individual’s efforts contribute to the quality of life of his/her community.

    Nominations should stress: the extent of the nominee’s involvement (including number of volunteer hours, overall length of service, offices held, project involvement, etc.); the significance of the involvement to the organization(s) and/or community; and the breadth of the impact the individual has had.Copies of additional existing materials about the nominee may be attached (resume, articles, letters of support, etc.), but are not required.

  • Excellence in Leadership

    In 500 words or less, please submit a letter of recommendation, along with this form, describing activities and contributions to leadership causes/experiences which make this person deserving of this recognition. The committee is looking for a simple, direct description of how the individual’s leadership efforts impact the campus and/or community.

    Nominations should stress: the extent of the nominee’s involvement (including overall length of participation, offices held, project involvement, committees served on, etc.); the significance of the involvement to the organization(s) and/or community; and the breadth of the impact the individual has had.

    Copies of additional existing materials about the nominee may be attached (resume, articles, letters of support, etc.), but are not required.

  • Outstanding Honors Capstone

    In 500 words or less, please submit a letter of recommendation, along with this form, describing what makes this person deserving of this recognition. The committee is looking for a simple, direct description of how the individual’s capstone paper is considered outstanding.

    Nominations should address how the capstone paper meets the aforementioned selection criteria.

    Copies of additional existing materials about the nominee may be attached (resume, articles, letters of support, etc.), but are not required.
