  • CONSTITUTION

    GULF COAST RC CLUB, AMA #611

    The name of this club is Gulf Coast Radio Control club, also known as “GCRC”.

    The objectives of this club are:

    To promote a feeling of fellowship and establish closer relations among people interested in radio controlled aircraft.

    To encourage other people to become interested in this hobby.

    To encourage sportsmanlike conduct when flying model aircraft.

    To work with the Academy of Model Aeronautics as a charted club.

    To obtain and maintain a suitable flying site.

     

    GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT


    When the conduct of any member becomes detrimental to the character and welfare of the club, or if any of its members conducts

    His/her self in anyway contrary to or in violation of the constitution, the member, if the Executive Board decides that dismissal is warranted, shall be removed from the roster immediately and refunded that portion of his/her dues remaining.

     

    FIELD AND SAFETY RULES

    1. The current AMA NATIONAL MODEL AIRCRAFT SAFETY CODE shall apply to ALL operations.
    2. Non-members flying at the field must be accompanied by a current GCRC member and must have in their possession, a current AMA license issued in their name. The GCRC member acting as host is responsible for providing a safety orientation to the guest pilot and is responsible for ensuring that the guest complies with GCRC rules. A guest is limited to three flying sessions (defined as a day of flying) per year.
    3. All members must have in their possession a current AMA membership card.
    4. A maximum of one pilot per station, except during instruction.
      All spectators will remain behind the chained link fence unless accompanied by a pilot. Children are the responsibility of the parents and should be watched closely.
    5. All pilots after take-offs and landings will stand clear of the runway by a minimum of 20’. Flying is NEVER permitted over the pits, parking lot or spectator area.
    6. A muffler or tuned pipe will be used on all engines above 15cc displacement.
    7. Engines will not be started or run under the shed or inside the fenced area that surrounds the pit area.
    8. The pilot proficiency test shall consist of the following:
      • Complete check of the aircraft
      • Three take-offs and landings, without incident, as judged by the GCRC instructor.
      • The instructor is to determine the PILOT skills necessary to safely fly R/C aircraft
    9. Field Maintenance is led by the acting field maintenance director. Mowing of the club's entrance grounds, pit, and grass runways is handled by the mowing squadron on a rotational schedule. Members who join the mowing squadron recieve a $30 gift per time they mow. Mowing equipment is provided by GCRC.
    10. Club dues are $100 per year*, due January 1st.

    *If mew member joining mid-year, club dues are $75 after March, $50 after June, $25 after September.
