Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet Equipment Lending Program

Picking Up Equipment: 

Items are to be picked up for use on Wednesdays ( 8:30 am- 6:00 pm), Thursdays (8:30-4:30 pm) or Fridays (8:30-4:30 pm) All pick up and drop offs are to take place at the RM of Lac du Bonnet Municipal Office: #4187 MB-317, Lac du Bonnet.

Our administrative office hour are as follows: 

Please note that we are closed all Statutory Holidays. If you are picking up equipment on Wednesday, after regular buinsess hours (8:30-4:30), please come to the back of the Admininstrative Building, to the trailer for pickup. Knock on the trailer door and our staff will bring out your equipment. 

Returning Equipment: 

All equipment is to be reutrned no later than the following Tuesday after pick-up date. This will allow us time to santize and clean items before other pickups begin on Wednesdays. 

Part 1: Lending Agreement 

• I accept full responsibility for the care of the equipment listed on this form and agree to pay for any damage or loss of items at full retail value.
• Items are to be picked up for use on Wednesdays between 1:00 pm- 6:00 pm and are to be returned no later than the following Tuesday between 8:30-4:30 pm. All pick up and drop offs are to take place at the RM of Lac du Bonnet Municipal Office: #4187 MB-317, Lac du Bonnet.
• Late fees apply if not returned by the above outlined dates. I understand there will be a late fee charged, at a per day rate, per item until returned.
• I am responsible for checking equipment for safety or damage before using.
• I am familiar with the proper use of rental equipment and agree to use the equipment only for its intended purpose and return in good working condition.
• I acknowledge that the RM of Lac du Bonnet. has NOT instructed on the proper use or handling of sporting/recreation equipment and that it is my personal responsibility to properly use this equipment.
• I understand I am NOT responsible for normal wear and tear or routine maintenance.
• I understand the terms and conditions of borrowing recreational equipment from the RM of Lac du Bonnet. and will be responsible for replacing any lost, damaged, or stolen items.
• The renter is responsible for replacing lost/damaged items at full retail value.

At this time, we would like to keep this program accessible to all, and are not requiring a Damage Deposit upfront to loan equipment. However, if renters continue to take advantage of this option by returning damaged equipment, continuously being late with returns, renting and not picking up, etc. this policy is subject to change.

Part 2: Release of Liability

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Lac du Bonnet. holds the safety of participants in a high regard. Participants and parents/guardians of minors taking part, must recognize the inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities. By signing this document, I acknowledge that I have been advised to wear appropriate safety and protection gear while using any of the sports rental equipment. I am also responsible for obtaining any additional equipment for the safe and proper use for all recreation and sports equipment. I am aware that the physical exertion required to participate in recreational activities can activate or aggravate pre-existing injuries and conditions. I will not hold the RM of Lac du Bonnet. responsible for any loss, damages or injuries resulting from the use or misuse of the equipment. In addition, I acknowledge that this equipment does not reduce risk of injury.

In recognition of my knowledge of these inherent risks and those not listed, I hereby assume full responsibility for and risk of bodily injury, death, or property damage as a result of my participation (or my child’s) in these sports and/or my use of the equipment, regardless of whether the injury, death, or property damage is caused, in whole or in part, by the negligence of the RM of Lac du Bonnet. (“WRRC”) and any or all of their directors, officers, employees, agents representatives, successors and assigns. I assume legal liability and waive all claims of injuries, damages, or loss I may sustain while participating in any activities associated with this rental agreement.

I, the undersigned, for myself, my heirs, representatives, assigns, and next of kin, in consideration of the rental of equipment to me, do fully and forever RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the RM of Lac du Bonnet. or the directors, officers, employees, agents representatives, successors and assigns (“the releasees”) from all liability to the undersigned, his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin for death, personal injury, or property damage and from any and all claims, demands, suits, loss, and causes of action asserting or on account of death, personal injury, or property damage suffered or sustained by me or any person or property as a result of or arising out of my participation in the sports/activities, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the releasees or otherwise.

I, the undersigned, acknowledge that I have read and understood the terms of the rental and release agreement and voluntarily and freely agree to its terms. I agree that no oral statements, representations, or inducements, apart from the language of the above agreement, have been made. I take full responsibility for any minors under the age of 18. I will be responsible for the full replacement cost of any equipment I have rented from the RM of Lac du Bonnet. and agree to pay for damages to, or the replacement cost of, any such equipment in the event of any damages other than reasonable wear and tear.

I have read, fully understand, and accept my obligations detailed above regarding the borrowing of equipment from the RM of Lac du Bonnet.
