Purpose: To assist Richfield Heritage Preserve in monitoring bluebird boxes to maximize efforts to protect bluebirds and their habitats.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent observation, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Be physically able to perform all tasks including walking for extended time periods
Working Conditions:
- Walking through grass fields some with uneven terrain
- Tolerate the outdoors such as mosquitos, ticks, sun, and summer heat
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow Park Rules and Regulations
- Attend required training
- Accurately record observations
- Report damaged boxes or missing supplies to the RHP Bluebird Trail Coordinator
- Submit volunteer hours to the RHP Volunteer Coordinator on a monthly basis
- Use all tools in a safe manner
Time Commitment: This is a seasonal (March through August) unpaid volunteer position which requires a few hours per month as well as monthly reporting of volunteer hours
Supervision: This position reports to the RHP Bluebird Trail Coordinator and the RHP Volunteer Coordinator
