Scholarships
A completed application package includes the following items:
1. This application form completed and signed.
2. A personal essay (at least one page) that explains both why you need the award and why you deserve
  it. The selection committee will give preference to essays that address the following:
  1. A detailed description of your financial situation and why you are facing financial difficulties.
    You are encouraged to be as specific as possible.
  2. An explanation of how this award would affect you.
  3. A description of any and all contributions you have made to the WIU campus and/or Macomb
    community.
3. An unofficial copy of your academic transcript, in order to verify your GPA. This is available on STARS.

WEOG Award
Award: $500 scholarships, available fall and spring semester
Criteria:

I am a current full-time (i.e. at least 9 credit hours for graduate students, 12 credit hours for undergraduate students) international student, male or female, any major.My financial need will be regarded as an important requisite.

Award: $400 scholarship, available fall and spring semester
Criteria:

I am a current full or part-time international student, male or female.My financial need will be regarded as an important requisite.
Preference may be given to applicants based on academic performance and/or demonstrated
campus/community involvement.

Francis and Peggy Davern International Scholarship
Award: $325 scholarship, available fall and spring semester
Criteria:

I am a current full-time (i.e. at least 9 credit hours for graduate students, 12 credit hours for undergraduate students) international student, male or female, any majorI am either a graduate student with a 3.5 GPA or better OR an undergraduate with a 2.5 GPA or better.I am uploading a letter of recommendation from a WIU alum on my behalf.One-page essay that answers: “Why did you choose to attend Western Illinois University?”. It is best to include as much specific information as possible.
