Overview: At Thistle Farms, we offer student internships that provide hands-on experience in a mission-driven environment, equipping students with valuable skills while making a meaningful impact. These unpaid internships allow students to collaborate on projects, support daily operations, and contribute to our mission of justice, healing, and hope.

Program Details: 

• Internship Type: Unpaid 
• Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students 
• Duration: Flexible (minimum of 10 weeks, 10-15 hours per week)
• Location: Thistle Farms Headquarters, Nashville, TN 
• Supervision: Interns will report to a designated department lead 

Internship Areas: Interns may be placed in one of the following areas based on their interests and skills: 

• Social Enterprise & Retail Operations: Gain experience in ethical product sourcing, retail operations, inventory management, and customer engagement. 
• Marketing & Communications: Assist with social media, content creation, brand storytelling, and community engagement. 
• Development & Fundraising: Support donor engagement, grant writing, and event planning to help sustain our mission. 
• People & Culture (Human Resources): Assist in staff development initiatives, training programs, and talent engagement strategies. 
• Programs & Advocacy: Work directly with our survivor-led programs, community outreach, and advocacy initiatives.
• Operations & Finance: Learn about nonprofit administration, budgeting, and financial management. 

Intern Responsibilities: 

• Assist department teams with daily tasks and projects 
• Conduct research and provide creative solutions for various initiatives 
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions 
• Engage in professional development opportunities provided by Thistle Farms 
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the values of Thistle Farms
