Purpose of PGA of Canada Foundation

 Since 1911, the PGA of Canada and its members have improved the lives of millions through golf. For more than 100 years the Association and members have Canadians representing every race, gender, social and economic background — all through a special experience with the game we love.  It was recently founded as a charitable foundation to raise funds to advance education by providing scholarships, bursaries, awards and financial aid.

Purpose of PGA of Canada Foundation Bursaries

 The purpose of the PGA of Canada Foundation’s Professional Development Bursaries is to assist, encourage and promote the attainment of professional development and part-time education opportunities to enhance the skills and abilities of PGA of Canada Members and Apprentice Professionals. 

Who is Eligible

Bursaries are available to PGA of Canada Members and Apprentice Professionals in good standing. 

Bursary Policies

1. A bursary award is contingent upon a Member or Apprentice Professional completing one or more professional development opportunities during the 2025 year.
Apprentice Professionals - A bursary may not be awarded towards any PGA of Canada Training Academy courses and/or programs by any Apprentice Professional who is in the process of obtaining the Class “A” status. Apprentice Professionals may only apply for professional development opportunities outside of the PGA of Canada Training Academy.
Class "A" Members - may apply for any professional development opportunities including, but not limited to, PGA of Canada Training Academy courses and/or programs.

2. The bursary is only valid for the cost of registration/tuition of any one or more professional development opportunities during the 2025 calendar year.

3. Applicants will be judged on the basis of substantiated information contained in their application.

4. A maximum amount of $2,000 in bursaries may be awarded to any one individual applying over their career as a Class “A” member or Apprentice Professional with the PGA of Canada.

Bursary Criteria

1. The PGA of Canada Foundation will award up to a maximum of twenty (20) bursaries of up to $500 each per calendar year.

2. The bursaries will be awarded to selected PGA of Canada Members and Apprentice Professionals to assist with cost of registration/tuition in obtaining professional development and education opportunities.

3. Professional development opportunities conducted by the PGA of Canada or PGA of Canada Zone offices along with any opportunities provided by any PGA of Canada partners will take priority in the selection process.

Bursary Procedures

1. Complete & sign the application form then submit to the PGA of Canada Foundation.

2. Provide receipt of payment and verification of attendance.

3. The Bursary committee will evaluate the application and approve or deny the request based on the application and the benefits that the proposed activity will provide to the applicant’s overall development.

Deadline for Application

The deadline to apply is January 31st, 2026 for professional development taken in the past calendar year.  The application form, payment receipt along with verification of attendance must be received by the above date.  Bursaries will be awarded by March 31st, 2026.
