2021 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday Service to Community Awards

The winner of each category will be presented with an award at their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday Celebration (or NAIDOC Awards by negotiation). Their story will act as inspiration for the Catholic Community and will be shared across various platforms including Catholic Media, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander media and the NATSICC website and newsletters. Only 5 awards will be given out each year.

Award Criteria
The recipient of the 2021 NATSICC Service to Community Award will:
• be a member of the local Catholic Community.
• be Jesus made present to others, through living out the Gospel values in his or her role.
• be working with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community or is a member of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community.
• have given exceptional service in his or her role.
• have made a significant difference to the lives of others through his or her role.
• have set an example which would inspire others to follow.

Process
NATSICC welcomes and encourages nomination of suitable candidates by individuals or groups.

Pre-selection panels, including representatives from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities and Ministries will consult with NATSICC regarding the award recipients.

Each person nominated will be notified by NATSICC in recognition of his/her nomination and effort in working toward Community improvement.
Award recipients will be notified by the 15th of June. The person who put forward the nomination, will be asked to present the award (where possible).

Awards will be presented during a local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday or NAIDOC celebrations

Nominations to be received by NATSICC no later than the 27th of APRIL.
