Rabbinic Search Committee

The Board of Trustees of Temple Emanu-El is establishing a Rabbinic Search Committee. The Committee will be responsible for establishing search procedures and ultimately recommending to the Board of Trustees and the Congregation the candidate who will be our next rabbi. The Board has appointed Trustee Josh Levinson to Chair the Committee.

Priorities of the Committee will include:

Ensuring that the Congregation has worship options for High Holidays 2021
Finding an Interim Rabbi for a period of time
Conducting a thorough search for a permanent rabbi
Ensuring that worship, programs, and education including B'nai Mitzvah preparation continue during this interim period

Search Committee membership will be appointed by the Board of Trustees and will represent a broad cross-section of the Congregation. The Board values and relies on involvement from the Congregation. There will be significant ways to participate in the rabbinic search and transition at Temple Emanu-El other than participation on the Rabbinic Search Committee.

You do NOT need to complete this application if you are most interested in helping with the rabbinic transition in another capacity, e.g., celebrating our outgoing rabbi, organizing forums for the Congregation to give input about future goals of Temple Emanu-El and/or attributes we should seek in our next permanent rabbi, or welcoming our new interim and permanent rabbis. Opportunities to participate in such efforts will be provided at a later date.
