EXPLANATION OF MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

All adult Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society members start at the ASSOCIATE level [$50/year]. Children under the age of 16 are given the added option to join at a reduced rate BASIC level membership [$25/year]. For a full explanation of member benefits, see the JOIN US page on our website.

After two years as an Associate member, individuals age 18 or above become eligible to apply for REGULAR or LIFE memberships. These higher-tier membership levels grant voting privileges in the Society's director elections and member meetings.

MEMBERSHIP START AND END DATES

All Mid-Continent memberships are aligned to the calendar year. Every membership expires on December 31st, regardless of an individual’s join date; however, applications received in the final two months of the year will automatically be extended through the following year. Renewal notices are mailed to members in early December.

Most people join Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society as an ASSOCIATE member, the standard starter-level membership open to all ages. Children under the age of 16 have the additional option of joining Mid-Continent at the BASIC membership level.

The primary difference between these two membership levels is that BASIC members are provided one free train ride pass per year. ASSOCIATE members have access to unlimited free train rides* and receive a 10% discount in the museum gift shop.
