Future Majority is looking for an experienced volunteer manager to oversee the development and growth of our volunteer-lead direct voter contact program. Ahead of upcoming pivotal elections, the Deputy Outreach Director can expect to scale our national volunteer phone bank program to a 100+ strong team of volunteers. In this vital role, you’ll manage the leadership development, recruitment, and training of the phone bank team, overseeing the competition of thousands of meaningful voters conversations that will ensure that the power of young voters is translated at the ballot box into meaningful and lasting change.
The Deputy Outreach Director will help guide the goals, structure and culture of the direct voter contact program, developing able and highly-autonomous volunteer leaders. In this role, you’ll work in collaboration to create an effective phone bank script, and motivate your team to reach ambitious contact goals. A deep commitment to youth priorities like action on climate change and to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through and within our organization is a must in this position. Experience managing a direct voter outreach program is a bonus.

Future Majority is a national nonpartisan non-profit, founded in 2018. Our mission is to amplify the concerns of young Canadians so that EVERY candidate, politician, and party is an advocate for youth priorities. We set the agenda and impact policy by demonstrating our electoral strength and organizing ourselves in the places that matter most to politicians. Our approach focuses on authentic, peer-to-peer organizing, power building in politically important ridings, and youth leadership development. We’re for young people, by young people. In the 2019 federal election, Future Majority organized 26,000 students to vote across 15 ridings across Canada. In addition, through over 200 news stories including 38 national news stories like the front page of the Sunday Toronto Star, we spread our message that young Canadians are the largest voting bloc and our priorities are bold action on climate change and affordability.

Volunteer Team Management, and Development
| Manage and grow Future Majority’s national volunteer direct voter contact team, completing phone calls directly to youth across the country. Provide guidance, mentorship, structure, feedback, and evaluation to the volunteer team. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inspiring culture for all volunteers, and cultivate a robust volunteer leadership ladder.
Recruitment, and Training
| Own the recruitment and training of 100+ volunteers. Development and oversee recruitment plans and volunteer-lead training programs.
Script Development and Tracking
| Oversee the development of an effective voter persuasion and supporter mobilization script. Complete daily tracking of phone calls, and analysis of goals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus: Experience leading a direct-voter contact program, either in-person or over the phone.

First Round Interview: Future Majority will invite a select number of candidates for the first-round interview over Google Hangout.
Take Home assignment: Candidates who pass the first round interview will be invited to complete a homework assignment which we expect to take between 5-7 hours to complete. To increase the accessibility of our application process and jobs to as many people as possible, we offer up to $105 to folks completing the assignment.
Final Interview: Candidates who pass the second round interview will be invited to a final interview.The final interview will be an evaluation of the take home assignment and a roleplay pitch call to a media outlet.
