WHAT IS "AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP"?
As a foundation, Mueller supports sustainable affordable housing activities and we act to assure that at least 25% of the housing for rent and for sale through our programs are reserved for persons with incomes below the area’s median income.
We demonstrate our commitment to creating diverse and inclusive communities through affirmative outreach, marketing and recruitment to persons who demonstrate high levels of need for affordable housing and who are currently not well-served by housing in our community.
Consistent with federal, state and local fair housing laws, we welcome families with children, people with disabilities, and persons with low to moderate incomes to participate in our programs.
For the Mueller Affordable Homes Program, “affordable” is defined as ownership opportunities for households making at or below 80% of Median Family Income (MFI). See the City of Austin Program Income Limits below. For example, a household of four who make $97,800 or less may qualify to purchase an affordable home.
On occassion there are ownership opportunities at or below 120% Median Family Income (MFI). For example, a household of 4 making $151,200 or less may qualify to purchase a home in this category.
