I understand that the staff at Blue Sky Acres (BSA), including instructors and administrators, are in control of the activities that I participate in and I will follow their direction. I understand that from time to time the guidelines or rules may change and that it is the responsibility of the BSA staff to inform me of those changes in a timely manner.

DISCHARGE POLICY
Unfortunately, volunteering is not an appropriate activity for everybody and we occasionally have to decline or discontinue services to those who do not follow and respect the policies at BSA. If a volunteer does not abide by the code of conduct stated here, that volunteer will be excused from volunteering at Blue Sky Acres. Instances may involve continual inappropriate attire, unsafe behaviors that jeopardize self and others, inappropriate language and actions, misuse of center property and horses, disrespect of riders and/or staff, betrayal of center confidential information as well as continual disregard for authority. These are only examples and not to be considered a complete list of offenses that would constitute a discharge/dismissal from BSA.
CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY
I acknowledge that all BSA riders & their families have a right to privacy that gives them control over the dissemination of medical and other sensitive information. I agree to keep confidential all such medical, social and personal information.
SCHEDULING
Classes are held weather-permitting, if it is raining or rain is imminent, or if the daytime temperature is extreme heat or extreme cold, classes will be continued the following week. We try to give ample notice to volunteers but things come up and this may not always be possible. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you following orientation to discuss our scheduling process so please try to give an accurate picture of your availability so we can send options for classes during those times.
DRESS CODE
We ask that you dress neatly in comfortable but appropriate clothing. Closed-toed shoes are required in order to volunteer and boots are preferable. Avoid baggy clothing and dangly jewelry as they can obstruct your work and become a safety hazard. If you are wearing clothing with graphics or language deemed inappropriate by the staff, you may be asked to cover it up. Please avoid low cut or midriff-baring tops, short shorts and low hanging pants. Our goal is to promote a safe and focused environment for all of our participants, so please keep that in mind when dressing for your volunteer time. Many of our volunteers choose to wear BSA shirts, which is highly encouraged.
VOLUNTEER ABSENCE POLICY
While we appreciate our volunteers and would not be able to operate BSA without them, we ask that volunteers notify the instructor of that lesson at least 24 hours in advance if they know they cannot make a lesson they are signed up for. This allows BSA time to find a volunteer replacement.
Volunteers are encouraged to promote Blue Sky Acres in the community. However, I understand that no volunteer may represent, commit or obligate Blue Sky Acres without the express permission of the Executive Director, Program Director or other individual as designated by the Board of Directors.
