Moving the Needle on Our Equity Goals is a four-part workshop series for a national audience of education directors at cultural institutions, arts education organization leaders and experienced teaching and social artists.
Participants will work together to dive into how we can better address issues of equity at every level of our work. We ask that participants plan to attend all four workshops.

Our goals in this application process are:
- To form a cohort of no more than 35 people for small-group, in-depth learning;
- To ensure the cohort is socio-culturally, artistically and organizationally diverse; and
- To include individuals who are positioned to drive progress in terms of equity in their home communities.
Note: As a reflection of MINDPOP’s commitment to Austin’s Creative Learning Initiative, the cohort will be split roughly 50/50 between participants from the Austin area and those from across the country.
Applications are due April 28, though we encourage you to submit your information at your earliest convenience.
Cost: We are using an honor system that recognizes differences in wealth, income, and privilege within our community along with our need to cover program costs. Upon acceptance to the cohort, you will be able to chose what you will pay what you can, with these guidelines:
- Suggested General Admission: $150
- Solidarity Admission*: $300
- Pay What You Can: Base this amount on you or your organization's financial circumstances.
*By choosing Solidarity Admission, you will be covering the Suggested General Admission for yourself and one other participant.
Thank you to the National Guild for Community Arts Education and Rooted Doula Collective for the Solidarity Admission framework.
