Beautify the Building! Celebrating Lackawanna County through Artistic Expression!
Artists are invited to submit images of artwork celebrating Lackawanna County. Selected works will be displayed on the walls at the Government Center at 123 Wyoming Ave. Scranton, PA.
The program's goal is to showcase local artwork throughout the Government Center.
Artworks should be uplifting, positive and reflect one or more of the following themes relating to Lackawanna County Government:
Community life in Lackawanna County (people, places, streetscapes, homes, heritage, food, health & fitness, diversity and inclusion)
Memorializing Covid-19 (honoring those who have passed, front line workers, symbols of hope and resilience, positive messages)
Civic Duty (patriotism, voting (non-partisan) celebrating veterans, volunteering)
Environment (Lackawanna landscapes, flora & fauna, animals, outdoor recreation, recycling)
Arts & Culture -(celebrating arts & culture activities, events and programs, organizations and artists of all disciplines, history, heritage)
Older Adults, Children and Youth, Persons with Disabilities, Mental Health, Diversity & Inclusion
Selected artists will receive a $150 for use of their image(s).
Works in all mediums will be considered.
Lackawanna County will cover the cost of printing images in varying sizes.
Artwork must be original, and artists retain all intellectual property rights.
Application is due May 14, 2021.
