ABOUT THE TOUR

Bedford Avenue is one of Brooklyn's longest and most historic streets, stretching from Greenpoint to Sheepshead Bay. In this tour, we will look at the development and history of one part of the road as we take a virtual stroll from Greenpoint, through the heart of Williamsburg and the Orthodox community south of the Williamsburg Bridge, then on to Clinton Hill, ultimately ending at Prospect Park. Along the way, we'll see how these areas evolved from Native American settlements to colonial farmland to bustling suburbs to being the heart of Brooklyn as a independent city.
