About: The ‘Ō‘ō Award, presented by the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, has become one of the most prestigious honors presented to outstanding Native Hawaiians. The ‘Ō‘ō itself is made from precious hardwoods firmly rooted in the ‘āina. Today, the tool is used as a symbol to represent a recipient’s strong core values, business acumen, and leadership qualities – key ingredients for sustaining success within the Hawaiian community.
Submission Deadline: May 7, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. Hawaii Time
Nominators are strongly encouraged to submit the following information with their Nomination Form:
- A complete Nomination Form
- A short biography or resume for the Nominee
- A letter(s) of recommendation or support
- Any additional information that would be helpful for the Nomination Committee to consider (examples: articles or other awards received)
Please note: Consideration of all nominees is based on the information and narratives provided in the nomination form as well as any supporting materials/documents. Therefore, providing as much information as you can regarding the Nominee is highly recommended. The Nominations Committee reserves the right to exclude from consideration nomination packages that are incomplete or that do not provide the Committee with sufficient information.
