Here’s how our Read, Write, Rescue Program works:
You can read or complete homework any day, Tuesdays-Sundays 12-3:30 pm and Mondays 12-3 pm for 30 minute sessions. However, weekdays are better than weekends because it can get quite busy on the weekends and be uncomfortable to read aloud or focus on homework. But if weekends are all you can do, that's fine. We need an adult to stay with your child and you to bring your own reading and homework material. The first time we'll ask you to sign a waiver. It's very flexible. You can stay as short or long as your child likes within your reserved time slot. They'll be given a chair to sit down and read or do homework in front of the animal type of your choice—dog, cat, rabbit, small animal. The dogs may be a bit intimidating in the kennel and very loud at first before they settle.
Just let us know what day/time you want to come in and we'll put you on the calendar.
***PLEASE WAIT FOR A CONFIRMATION EMAIL BEFORE COMING OUT. We may not be able to confirm your visit if you fill out this form the day before or day of your request due to the volunteer manager not working the day you submit the form. At this time, requests are only processed on the following days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays when the volunteer manager is in her office. Occasionally she does take vacation or sick days. So ALWAYS wait for a confirmation email before coming out. :) ***
